Tristan Prettyman's second release entitled "Hello" came out recently and fully exceeded all of my expectations. A solid listen all the way through, instead of her sophmore release slumping it appears that she has had a sophmore sensation making her way to #2 on Itunes top 10 most downloaded albums. Amazingly the full album can be downloaded from Itunes for only $5.99 which makes it a sure bet if you are looking for somthing new to listen to!

As this being the 25th episode it is somewhat of a milestone for the LMP. Being as such I wanted to make it a bit extra special, but then I realized that the next episode will mark the show's one year anniversary. So after much debate I decided that the best option was to make both episodes special, but I will save the party horns for next time.
The music for this episode comes from what is easily one of my favorite all time downloads and features singer/song-writer Ray Lamontagne. If this is your first encounter with Mr. Lamontagne's music be prepared to get some goosebumps. His unique singing style combines a husky whisper with powerful raw emotion that comes straight from his soul. Combine that with Ray's excellent song writing, a very talented ensemble of musicians, and near soundboard quality you have a truly remarkable recording. In the last episode I briefly commented on all of the festivals that are in store for this summer. However, some festivals don't bother waiting until the busy season and get things started off early. One of the first major US music festivals for the last 20 years has been South by Southwest held in Austin, TX. There were a ton of great bands that played there this year so it was a bit difficult picking just one. I ended up deciding on the North Mississippi Allstars who's musical style I believe represents this southernly located festival. If you'd like to find other audience recordings from this year's SXSW check out the nearly full list over at largeheartedboy.com:
